I Made A Necklace

Jewelry isn't normally the genre of crafting I tend to gravitate towards. However, after seeing this tutorial I thought I would be adventurous (my idea of living on the edge) and give it a go.

I must say I was quite pleased with the end product. The simplicity of the design and nature-theme fit my aesthetic perfectly.

Nature Lover

Whether you are a regular reader of this blog or you just happen to drop by sporadically I think it is evident to all just how much of a nature enthusiast I am. I mean, if the name alone doesn't give a strong indication then I don't know what will.

These are a collection of photos taken over the past several months that would have been very Valentine appropriate if one had planned ahead. I happen to not be one of these "plan ahead" types so you are getting them now.

It would have been easy to overlook the common characteristic in these photographs. But lately, I've been making more of an effort to slow down, and take note of the small things. I'm definitely learning as I go, as this isn't something that comes naturally to me.

Business Card Contest

A few weeks back I submitted my business card for the "Business Card Contest" on this super-cute blog. I had forgotten about entering until checking my blog stats yesterday and seeing that the majority of traffic was coming from said blog. Imagine my surprise when I saw that my humble little card had made it to the finals!

(That's mine in the bottom right-hand corner.)

Here are the contest rules: (taken from here.)

The top three cards that receive your votes will receive a special surprise prize pack from me, and a spotlight on their businesses, here on my blog. AND those of you who vote will be entered into a drawing to win a surprise prize pack from me as well!

I would really appreciate it if you could take a moment to vote for my business card. (It's #17) Following any of the links above will take you to the voting page.

You have until Monday night, February 20th to vote/enter.

Frozen Hearts

Just in case there was any question regarding my fascination with nature I have another nature-infused post for you today.  The idea for these frozen hearts is from this fellow nature enthusiast.  The heart molds I have had for ages, and I never found a use for them until I saw this post. A few winter berries, some small sprigs of greenery, and a little water are all that is required to make these frozen winter decorations.

Like most of the country (U.S.), winter has been unseasonably warm for us this year. This means these little frozen hearts are in a constant rotation of melting and re-freezing. These ornaments would look great hanging outdoors. Weather permitting.
